Eric Mends gets Ghana Youth Awards nomination

Mr Eric Mends, a sports analyst, has been nominated to receive the award for Youth Sports Personality of the Year at this year’s Ghana Youth Awards (GYA).

He is presently the president of Manchester City Ghana, a supporters union, for the past 5 years and offers punditry services at Plan B FM, a local radio station in Tema. 

Mr Mends also founded the Apam City Football Club in 2008 to support young people across the midlands and deprived areas in the Gomoa District in the Central region of Ghana. 

He is a qualified graduate with sports management worldwide specifically in soccer management and scouting and a GFA talent ID Spotter. He has over 10 years experience working as a scout and in player recruitment.

As an experienced mentor, Eric specialises in building confidence and self-esteem working with youth and academy players.

He also has over 10 years experience as a Division 2 league player and manager.

Eric has managed the most successful youth football club in Gomoa West District and has placed 33 players into academies of which 10 have played at international levels.

Mr Mends holds Marketing degrees from the Takoradi Technical University and is currently a management member for Joseph Attamah, Ghana National team player.
