Ghana’s wonderkid Abdul Fatawu adjudged Best Player in the 2021 Afcon U-20 tourney

Spirited Black Satellites Skipper and Accra Hearts of Oak youngster hits double to help Ghana’s Black Satellites dominate the Hippos of Uganda clash as they comfortable cruise to a 2-0 win at the Stade de Olympic stadium to clinch the Afcon U-20 tournament held in Mauritania to make it four times title winners. 

After emerging victorious of the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations tournament, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku adjudged the Best Player of the tournament accolade after an impressive outputs throughout the competition after helping Ghana to hold their fourth Afcon U-20 title in Mauritania. 

The 16-year old bagged two goals for Satellites at the end of the tournament, scoring against Gambia in their group stages and one goal in their match opener against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania, scoring the second goal of the game in a grand style in the 30th minute from the halfway line into the yawning net of goalkeeper Daniel Mgore of the Tanzanians to ensure the Black Satellites top Group C with three points and four goals after the clash to the East African side. 

The stalwart midfielder adjudged his first award of the competition after an instrumental display which helped the Black Satellites to beat the Tanzanians at Stade Municipal in Nouadhibou. 

The swift left winger level-headed and bossed the midfield of the Hippos to cap off an impressive display yesterday in Mauritania. 

Temale Division One side Steadfast FC magic boy was among the CAF’s Best XI of the tournament together with Asante Kotoko SC experience goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad who also won the Best goalkeeper of the competition. 

He played three matches this season for Steadfast fc in the ongoing Division One League, scoring 3 goals, providing 4 assists and winning 3 MVP of the match.
