West African Football Academy (WAFA) hosted Medeama SC in Sogakope on Sunday afternoon 3rd January, 2021 in the Ghana Premier League on their match day seven fixture.
The Academy Boys picked up a scintillating performance since the commencement of the 2020/21 football season, despite their two defeats in the ongoing GPL against Bechem United on match day two and Great Olympics on match day six.
The Mauve and Yellow lads on the other hand were also hungrily in search of their second win of the season due to their unappealing performances from week one to week six.
Daniel Lomotey broke the deadlock for the home side to hand them the lead in the earliest minutes after the first whistle was blown by the centre referee Daniel Laryea in the 6th minute of the game.
Midfielder Forson Amankwah quickly came in for young star Lawrence Agyekum in the 37th minute when the game became hotter.
It was four goals to a duck against the visitors before recess.
The visitors came back strong to equalize three goals through Abass Mohammed and a brace from forward Rashid Nortey before Lomotey scored his fourth goal in the 84th minute which turned the score line to 5-3.
In due time to end the game, the visitors angrily sends powerful strikes towards WAFA’s goalkeeper but experience Sabi Acquah denied them from entering the net.
Fantastic Justice Blay beat goalkeeper Acquah with a thunderbolt to end the score-line 5-4.
WAFA SC are now 3rd on the league log with 13points from 7 games while Medeama SC with 7points from 7 matches played.
