Ghanaian midfielder Hope Kodzo Avayevu marked his professional debut for North Texas SC with a magnificent assist as his side cruise to an impressive 4-2 win over Fort Lauderdale CF in the USL League One on Sunday.
The determined side North Texas opened their 2021 League Season with empathetic 4-2 comeback win over Lauderdale CF in their season opener at Globe Life Park.
It was midfielder Venton Evans who connected well with Noah Allen’s cross from the left flanks who headed it home to give the visiting team Fort Lauderdale a 1-0 lead in the 14th minutes.
In the 28th minute when the game seems to feel bitterly for the hosts, Ghana’s Hope Kodzo invited forward Thibaut Jacquel with a decent pass in the penalty box to restore parity before recess.
In the second half, Shaan Hundal of the visitors hammered it into the back of the net of the hosts to give Fort Lauderdale a comfortable 2-1 lead before Thibaut Jacquel, Gibran Rayo came close in the 70th and 72nd minute to change the scoreline from 1-2 to 3-2.
The former Bechem United midfielder was replaced by midfielder Bernard Kamungo in the 71st minute of the game.
Substitute Bernard Kamungo came on to net his debut goal and the fourth goal for North Texas to end the scoreline at 4-2 before referee Elton Garcia blowed his final whistle in the game.
The win sees North Texas SC to occupy the first position with 3points.
