FC Metz have been boosted by the return of Ghana defender John Boye ahead of their opening Ligue 1 fixture against AS Monaco on Sunday.
The experienced guardsman picked a muscle injury during the side’s final pre-season friendly encounter against Montpellier HSC last Saturday.
The Maroons could have suffered greatly from the absence of the star defender in the opening round of the Ligue 1, but their game against Strasbourg was cancelled.
Boye has made a swift recovery and joined his teammates in training on Wednesday morning as coach Vincent Hognoon puts final touches on his squad ahead of the clash against Monaco.
The 33-year-old is expected to make the matchday squad having completed two consecutive training sessions without any discomfort.
He has been an instrumental figure for the club since joining as a free-agent in 2018.
Boye made 24 appearances and plundered 2 goals for the club last term.
