Crystal Palace and Black Stars striker, Jordan Ayew has assured all Ghanaians he will give his all to ensure that the Black Stars win be crowned champions in upcoming African Cup of Nations tournament.
Ghana are yet to win any major Trophy and are also without the AFCON title since 1982, despite reaching the finals on three different occasions in 1992, 2010 and 2015.
After leaving the country in doubt of retaining the title once more, following the teams disappointing performance at last years edition of the tournament in Egypt where they were knocked out in the competition in the last 16 stage, the Crystal Palace player of the season says he and his teammates are ready to do everything beyond their reach to put smiles on Ghanaians faces once more as they are looking to clinch the title next year
“The only thing I can promise is that I’ll give my three hundred or four hundred percent to the nation, he said in an interview with Citi Sports’ Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo.
“I know it’s only one thing and it is the African Cup of Nations, so we will make sure that when we go back to the next AFCON, we will do our best to perform very well and die for the country,” he concluded.
The 28 year old has featured for the BlackStars sixty-one times, netting seventeen goals since making his debut on 5th September 2010. He is also Ghana’s highest goalscorer in the English Premier League with 25 goals.
