Madam Della Sowah the Member of Parliament for Kpando has launched a massive project in her constituency to revive football.
Kpando has been the home grounds for Hearts of Lions, a club that has produced many talented players who have gone on to play in the various national teams.
Ms Sowah is organizing a community football gala in her constituency to unite and project the best young talents available.
In an interview with the CEO of Rising Sports Network Agboyibor Francis (Blackgate) the MP said she is delighted to come up with the event that started on Monday at the Kpando sports stadium and she can’t wait to see the final event that will come off on Sunday where the Akpini 11 will battle it out against the ex black stars players. She expects the Kpando park to be full to its maximum capacity to grace the event. It’s her dream that some of the selected players will catch the eyes of some scouts that will be present and take them far in their chosen career paths.
At the launch of the programme she revealed how she came up with the idea and says she believes there are so many talents in Kpando that needs to be unearth.
“Today by this event I am here to tell talented footballers in Kpando that as long as I am MP, they have support and a backbone. Every footballer from here will be given the opportunity to excel”.
Present at the launch was former Black Stars defender John Paintsil who will help with the selection of these players.
