Elmina Sharks failed to deepen the woes of Liberty Professionals despite their feeble performances in their last four games in the on going Ghana Premier League after their week nineteen (19) meeting at WAFA Park in Sogakope.
The Scientific Soccer Lads have now return to winning ways after ending their four-game losing streak with an empathetic 4-0 win over the Central Region based club Elmina Sharks.
Despite a tedious start by the Scientific Soccer Lads in the first half, they ended the first proceedings with a comfortable 1-0 lead through Paul Kwame. The determined side geared up in the second half to find the back of the net thrice again as they felt much more better at WAFA’s turf.
The hosts were two goals ahead just a minute after they honored the second fragment of the game through Simon Appiah. Forward Kwaku Kirikari added the third goal for Liberty in the 80th minute with a brilliant penalty which supercharged his side’s team-spirit with a strong hope of clinching all the 3points.
William Opoku also came close in the dying minutes of the game to grab his first goal of the season and the fourth goal for Liberty to end the entertaining game at 4-0.
Despite the 4-0 triumph over Elmina Sharks, The Scientific Soccer Lads still finds themselves in the relegation zone battling to escape their current spot. A win for them in their next encounter against Techiman Eleven Wonders will move them from the inferior position should King Faisal FC fails to beat Great Olympics and Medeama SC.
